And so it begins

A good story has generally has a good beginning. It captures the reader's interest and sets the stage for what is to come. Usually, a good story progresses in some order, perhaps chronologically, geographically, etc., but not always. The Things They Carried, for example, was a series of linked short stories that tells the reader about the life of the main character without a clear order.
Is this blog comparable to that novel by Tim O'Brien? Not even close. I just appreciated the work, and the ordered disorder was worth a shot. The point is, this blog has no real beginning or structure. It starts in the middle of a wonderful experience in Dakar, Senegal. It will explore experiences as they come and lessons I've learned from previous escapades. This is a series of adventures (and misadventures) that taught me something about the world or myself.
Perhaps you'll learn from my experiences. Perhaps you'll find a good story. Either way, whether you do or not is up to you, and I will do my best to make it possible.
